Privacy

Studiyum performs no external API calls for solving your homework. Photos, OCR text, questions, step-by-step working and your personal history are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us or any third party.

No account is required to use Studiyum offline; sign-in is only needed for optional Homework Circles (chat with classmates). Payment for Studiyum is only collected by the App Store and is handled by Apple on behalf of Studiyum.

• Homework photos you snap or upload.
• Questions you type into the solver.
• OCR text extracted from photos.
• Step-by-step working, final answers, and simpler-mode rewrites.
• Your solve history, streaks, XP, mistake map, or Learning-Mode data (all stored locally on this device).
• Location, contacts, browsing history, search history, health, or financial info.
• Advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking.

The math solver, language solver, OCR pipeline, simpler-mode rewrites and mistake-analysis all run against models and libraries bundled inside the app. They work in airplane mode. No solve request, photo, or piece of extracted text is sent to Studiyum servers or to any third-party AI provider.

You can verify this yourself in Settings → Privacy check, which lists every outbound request the app is capable of making, and in Settings → Debug.

Your homework stays on this device. Everything you solve, snap, or type is saved to your phone's local IndexedDB and never leaves it unless you explicitly share it (e.g. by joining a Homework Circle).

What we store on-device so the app works offline:

• Curriculum packs you download (sample problems, worked steps, answers, and simpler explanations).
• UI language files for the locale you have selected.
• Your solve history, starred items, streaks, XP, and offline solve queue.
• OCR language data (~2MB) cached the first time you solve a photo problem.
• App shell assets (HTML, JS, icons) via a service worker so the app opens without a connection.

You can review or clear any of this from Settings → Offline downloads and Settings → Backup. Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

You can install Studiyum and use every solving feature without creating an account and without granting any permissions beyond the camera (only if you want to snap homework). We do not create shadow accounts, device fingerprints, or advertising profiles.

An account is only required if you choose to:

• Join or run a Homework Circle (invite-only class chat).

Homework Circles (opt-in). When you sign in to use invite-only study rooms we store:

• Email address and display name.
• Messages you post in your circles (filtered for profanity and personal info before sending).
• Which circles you belong to.
• Reactions, reads, pins, and shared study notes you create inside the circle.

Payments. Payment for Studiyum is only collected by the App Store and is handled by Apple on behalf of Studiyum. Studiyum never sees, receives, or stores your card or payment details — Apple processes any payment and we only receive confirmation that a purchase is valid.

Diagnostic errors (minimal). When the app itself crashes we may capture the route, error message, and timestamp — never message contents, photos, or solved problems.

Row-level security enforces that:

• Chats and posts inside a circle are visible only to members of that circle.
• Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient.
• Your profile fields (name, avatar) are visible only to circles you have joined.
• Studiyum staff can access production data only when strictly necessary to investigate a support request you filed or a security incident.

Circles and account sign-in run on Studiyum's managed cloud backend, built on Supabase (Postgres, storage, authentication) and Cloudflare (edge network), processing data on our behalf under their own security terms. Apple is used only if you choose Sign in with Apple, and any payment for Studiyum is collected by the App Store and handled by Apple on our behalf.

We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any advertising trackers. There are no third-party scripts loading on your device beyond what is needed to run the app itself.

You can wipe on-device history from Settings → Backup, delete individual messages you sent, and leave any circle at any time. To delete your Circles account and every message you posted, use Settings → Account → Delete in the app or email privacy@studiyum.com from the address on the account.

Deletion completes within 30 days. Encrypted backups are retained for a further 30 days for disaster recovery, then permanently purged.

Studiyum is a student app designed for secondary-school students. If a student is under the age at which they can consent to online services in their country, a parent or guardian should create and manage the Circles account on their behalf. Studiyum can also be used entirely without an account: choose “Continue without an account” on the sign-in screen and every solve stays on the device.
